Dr Margaret Patterson

Welcome to Magnolia Pediatrics. I want to introduce myself to you all and let you know a little about myself. I am a mother of four boys, yes four boys. I have been a pediatrician for 15 years and am married to another physician, also Dr Patterson who is a dermatologist here in the area. I am originally from New Orleans, La and grew up in a family of five. My eldest sister is special needs which led me to want to be a pediatrician at a young age. I attended University of Notre Dame for undergrad and am a diehard Fighting Irish fan. I went back home for medical school at LSU where I met my husband. We graduated medical school and attended our respective residencies at Penn State University in Hershey. After completing residency, we moved to my husband’s hometown of Baton Rouge, where I practiced for a large hospital group for nine years.

We moved to Virginia in 2019 and I spent 4 years in private practice before deciding to open my own practice. I love to spend time with my family, including our two dogs. My other hobbies include fishing with my boys, hanging out on the lake and skiing (both water and snow). I love to read (a lot!) and cook my hometown food. I look forward to getting to know you all and hearing from you.
